    Notary certification of translations

In general, notaries do not have documentation certifying that they speak a foreign language at the necessary level to verify translations into or from a particular language. Therefore, as a rule, notaries can certify the signature of a professional linguist.

Our network of notary partners allows us to certify documents translated into or from any language in the shortest possible time. Regardless of whether you plan to use Russian documents abroad or foreign documents in Russia, we will organize the notarization of the translation without requiring your presence in the office of the notary.

Lingvo Connect provides notarization services to both individuals and legal entities.

    Examples of certified documents:

    • passport, driver's license, military ID

    • academic diploma and related materials

    • corporate founding documents, including bylaws, articles of incorporation, and certificate of incorporation of a company

    • financial and accounting documents

    • judicial records

The range of notary services offered by Lingvo Connect includes certification of the translator's signature, certification of copies of the translation, and certification of copies of the original Russian documents.

    Apostille and legalization

Documents issued by the authorities or certified by authorized persons and legally binding in one country can have legal power and be used in another country if they are properly certified and legalized.

Legalization of official documents can be carried out through two procedures:

    1) Consular legalization of documents

This procedure is required when submitting documents to governments that are not members of the Hague Convention from October 5, 1961, and have not concluded bilateral agreements for the abolition of legalization with the Russian Federation.

The consular legalization procedure consists of the following steps:

    • Making notarized copies

    • Translating

    •  Notary certification of translation

    •  Certification of the document by the Russian Ministry of Justice, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the embassy of the country where the document will be used.

Lingvo Connect is experienced in all stages of consular legalization. Our managers will answer all your questions about the cost and timing of consular legalization.

    2) Apostille

This simplified legalization procedure, introduced by the Hague Convention, is in effect for all member states of the convention. An Apostille stamp has the same legal effect as legalization, meaning that other steps to ensure the recognition of the document in another country are not required.

Please note that Apostille authorization can only be assigned in the country where the documents were issued.

The legalization of commercial documents (contracts, invoices, price lists, letters of guarantee, etc.) that cannot be legalized by either the consular or Apostille methods is carried out in the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. There are three stages: translation, notarization, and then legalization in the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
